Development Assistant Job

Hard-working, detail-oriented and enthusiastic development professional with a sense of urgency and a passionate commitment to the performing arts and cultural equity. The position requires people skills as well as excellent writing, organization and research abilities. Provide care in the appearance and content of work products. Capable self-starter who works well as an individual and in a small team. Ability to set goals and take ownership of duties. Reports will be made to Executive Director on a weekly basis. Remote with a few weekends/nights a year in person.

Responsibilities:

Fundraising
-
Research and cultivate new sources of government, corporate, foundation and individual support
-
Maintain the system for tracking all development correspondence, reporting, and individual supporter records

Maintain fundraising calendar and donation records - Update and modify current yearly Grant Calendar monthly
-
Support writing and submission of letters of inquiry and grant proposals, create initial checklist collect supplemental materials– press, work samples, budgets, narrative, on drive and review before final submission

Provide staff support and outreach for all fundraising events- tracking and identifying fundraising trends, and helping to staff and execute logistics of donor events and hospitality as needed

Work on individual donor campaigns- create profiles on current and potential donors, keep database of individual donors, perks, send receipts with tax id numbers and thank yous

In-kind donation solicitation, follow up and pick up day of, thank you cards

Organization of vimeo account- some editing for grant samples in Adobe Premiere or other program, labeling and uploading videos,

Track and assist in completion of grant reports

Manage attendee and financial data across Google sheets, PayPal, Square, etc
Marketing
-
Manage email promotion on Mailchimp - create and send out on schedule

Import contacts from website and hard copy surveys to our email list as needed

Update website via Wix

Manage- find, label and organize all press of in master sheet

Assist with social media updates- facebook, Instagram
-
Manage creative visual and video assets and prepare for the web

Admin
-
Update artists, staff contact information, dates in productions master doc
-
Program organization support as needed
-
Check Check organization general inbox and respond to emails accordingly

Set up events and activities in software platforms
-
Create invoices as necessary
-
Submit insurance documents, onboarding documentation and other paperwork for grants
-
Track payments and participants involved in CubaCaribe activities
Qualifications
-
2+ years of prior development experience
-
Knowledge of non-profit arts development & An interest in the performing arts, dance, and/or education is preferred.

Excellent writing, presentation, research and planning skills
-
Strong attention to detail and excellent administrative organizational abilities.

Experience writing foundation, corporation, and individual grants and proposals

Ability to set goals and take ownership of duties

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, MailChimp, Wix and google drive. Experience with fundraising databases, Canva a plus.

Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize and manage multiple assignments in a busy environment.

Possess superior interpersonal skills and be able to work successfully with colleagues, donors, volunteers, and staff.

Spanish speaking a plus
Compensation
Salary: 10-15 hrs/week @ $30/hr
